Red Misericordia is a nonprofit organization in Santiago, Dominican Republic, dedicated to protecting and uplifting children and adolescents who have been exposed to neglect, abuse, or abandonment. The center currently cares for around 150 children ranging in age from newborns to 17 years old, while also providing specialized support for teenage mothers and their babies.
Children at Red Misericordia receive shelter, education, health care, and spiritual guidance, creating an environment where they can heal, grow, and envision a brighter future. To fulfill its mission, Red Misericordia works closely with national institutions such as CONANI (the National Council for Children and Adolescents) and the Attorney General's Office, ensuring that every child receives both daily care and the legal protection they deserve.
Vida Mana chose Red Misericordia as our next ally because of our shared commitment to solidarity and empowerment. Vida Mana will collect essential items, toys, and school supplies and host a day of activities designed to bring joy, comfort, and meaningful connection to the children and young mothers they serve.
